Green Tea Cake Recipe #1: Sencha Green Tea Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp sencha green tea leaves
  • 1/3 cup hot water, about 160- 170 degrees F
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Preparation:

  • Put 1 1/2 Tbsp of sencha green tea leaves in a tea pot.
  • Pour 1/3 cup of hot water over the tea leaves and brew for a minute.
  • Pour green tea into a small bowl and let it cool.
  • Meanwhile, line a 8-inch round cake pan with baking wax papers.
  • Preheat oven to 360 degrees F.
  • Combine vegetable oil and green tea in the bowl.
  • Whisk eggs well in a large bowl, adding sugar gradually.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and 1/2 Tbsp of green tea leaves into another bowl.
  • Add half of the flour mixture into egg mixture and stir lightly.
  • Add half of the green tea and oil mixture into the bowl and stir.
  • Add the rest of flour mixture into the batter and stir lightly.
  • Further, add the rest of green tea and oil mixture into the batter and mix well.
  • Pour the batter into the cake pan.
  • Bake in preheated 360 degrees F oven for about 35-45 minutes.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #2: Green Tea Cake

Ingredients (4 servings) :green-tea-cake-recipe

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp matcha (green tea powder)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Preparation:

  • Cream butter in a bowl.
  • Add sugar in the butter and mix well.
  • Gradually add beaten eggs and stir well.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and green tea powder together and add the flour to the egg mixture.
  • Pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan.
  • Bake in preheated 340 degrees F oven for about 30-40 minutes.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #3: Green Tea Angel Food Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 2 Tbsp green tea powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 12 egg whites, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In food processor, process sugar until it is fine and powdery.
  • Separate sugar equally into two containers.
  • Sift together half the sugar with cake flour, green tea powder and salt, and set aside.
  • In separate bowl, beat together egg whites, water, vanilla, and cream of tartar.
  • After two to three minutes, add separated half of sugar.
  • Continue beating until egg whites are thick and glossy, forming medium peaks when you lift the whisk or beater, but not yet too stiff or dry-looking.
  • Sift some of the flour mixture over the top and gently fold in with a spatula.
  • Repeat until all the flour mixture is incorporated.
  • Spoon into a tube or bundt pan (ungreased) and bake 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the cake (halfway between the inner and outer rim) comes out clean.

Time Saving Tips:

  • If you don’t have cake flour on hand, substitute 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp regular white flour.
  • Remove half the sugar from the food processor, then add flour, green tea powder, and salt to the other half, and pulse to combine, instead of sifting.
  • Place egg whites, water, vanilla, and cream of tartar in electric mixer. After two minutes, add sugar and let run until mixture is smooth and glossy, then remove to fold in flour as directed.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #4: Green Tea Honey Cakegreen-tea-cake-recipe

Ingredients (8 servings):

  • Cooking spray
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup fat-free milk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons green tea powder
    (or pulverize green tea leaves with
    a clean coffee grinder)

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Coat a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray; line bottom of pan with wax paper. Coat wax paper with cooking spray; set aside.
  • Place sugar, eggs, and yolks in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until thick and pale (about 6 minutes).
  • Combine milk and honey in a small bowl; stir well with a whisk.
  • Add milk mixture to egg mixture, stirring well.
  • Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife.
  • Place flour in a small mixing bowl; add tea, stirring well with a whisk.
  • Fold flour mixture into egg mixture. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan.
  • Cool completely on wire rack.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #5: Vanilla Green Tea Cake

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 4-5 teaspoons powdered green tea
  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs

Ingredients Green Tea Icing:

  • 1 ¼ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons powdered green tea
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, soft
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, soft
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons milk

Preparation:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour a 9×13-inch or two, 9-inch cake pans.
  • In a bowl, sift the all-purpose flour with cake flour, baking soda, salt, and green tea powder, mix well and set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the white sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually beat in the flour mixture, alternating with the yogurt.
  • Mix well and pour the batter into the prepared baking pans.
  • Bake the cake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool on a cake rack for 30 minutes before icing.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #6: Green Tea Tofu Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2tsp green tea powder
  • 1 cup tofu (soft)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pancake mix

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Sift together pancake mix and green tea powder. Set aside.
  • Drain water from the tofu package.
  • In a bowl, whip tofu until smooth with a blender or food processor.
  • Beat in egg, butter and sugar.
  • Add the flour mixture (pancake mix and green tea powder), mix thoroughly.
  • Pour batter into a loaf pan, and bake about 30 min.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #7: Chocolate & Matcha Green Tea Cakegreen-tea-cake-recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ cups of flour, sifted
  • 3 large size eggs
  • 8 tbsp of melted butter
  • ¾ cup of fine blond sugar
  • 1.5 tsp of Matcha tea
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp of sifted unsweetened cocoa, diluted with 2 tbsp cold whole milk
  • 3 ounces of chocolate
    70% cocoa, melted
  • A pinch of salt

Procedure:

  • Beat up the eggs well to obtain a white frothy color.
  • Melt the butter and pour it on the eggs and stir well.
  • Mix baking powder and salt to the sift flour and add it to the eggs to make the batter.
  • Separate the batter into two halves.
  • Add the melted chocolate and the cocoa which has been diluted in cold milk into one half of the batter.
  • Mix the matcha tea into the other half.
  • Take 6 small size molds and grease them properly.
  • Sprinkle some flour on the greasy surface.
  • First poor some chocolate batter in each of these molds followed by some matcha tea batter.
  • Put the molds in a preheated oven and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.

Green Tea Cake Recipe #8: Steamed Green Tea Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 67g canola oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 180g skim milk (or any milk you have)
  • 200g self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. green tea powder

Preparation:

  • Beat the sugar and eggs with an electric beater until double in size.
  • Add the canola oil, whisk to combine.
  • In another bowl, add the self-rising flour and the green tea powder, whisk to combine.
  • Add into the wet mixture. Mix until incorporated.
  • Pour into the silicon cups and steam in a steamer for 15 minutes.
  • Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes and release from silicon cups.
  • Let cool completely before storing in air-tight container.
