(Heck, If You’re Not Smoking You’d Better Try It Too…)
If you’re smoking green tea should be part of your daily diet!
Whether you’re a heavy smoker and you find it difficult to quit, or whether you’re an occasional smoker who likes to puff away a few cigarettes at parties, studies have shown that green tea reduces the risk of getting lung cancer, the leading cause of most cancer deaths.
A 2010 study by Lin et al among 170 lung cancer patients and 340 healthy patients found that smokers and non-smokers who did not drink green tea had a 5 TIMES HIGHER RISK of getting lung cancer compared with those who drank at least one cup of green tea a day.
The difference between smokers who did not drink green tea and those who did, even had a 13 times higher risk of lung cancer!
It seems that smokers as well as non-smokers may moderate the risk of getting lung cancer when drinking at least one cup of green tea per day.
This, of course, also depends on many other factors such as genes and the quality of green tea.
We all know it’s best to quit smoking completely….If you want to take it slow however my advice is to add green tea to your diet; it can’t hurt to try….
